Draft for ExamLounge. A lawyer needs to review this before it is published. It is written to be COPPA-aware.
Who this is for
A parent or legal guardian creates the account and confirms they are 18 or older. The child profile stores a nickname and a grade. It does not ask for the child’s email, full name, school, or photo of their face. Adults 13 and older may open their own account for college or a certification exam. Under 13 uses a parent account.
What uploads can contain
Worksheets often have a full name, a teacher, and a school. We redact lines labeled Name, School, Teacher, Period, and Class, plus any full name you type into the setup form. The profile keeps the nickname. Raw upload files are deleted after 30 days. Extracted text, with those redactions, stays so the tutor can keep teaching.
What parents see
The readiness card shows the test date, Ready or Not yet, the phase, and which topics are red or green. Chat transcripts are hidden unless the parent turns sharing on. The night-before digest is shown in the app. Sending it as email needs a mail provider you configure later. We do not sell personal information.
Models
Uploads are not used to train models. When an AI Gateway key is set, scans, handwritten pages, and answer-key pictures go to the gateway for a first read, and study plans, explanations, and quizzes go there too. A second miss on the same check uses the premium model. If the gateway refuses because a budget cap was reached, teaching continues from the uploaded pages. In demo mode, no upload leaves this server, and the built-in study sets do not call a model.
Delete
Settings includes delete-account. That removes the parent profile, nicknames, exams, extracted text, and stored files. [legal@examlounge.app] is a placeholder contact for privacy requests.
